2007 Ram 1500 - 5.7 - Crank, no start, no tach.
Currently in the first phase of rebuilding my truck (it's sentimental to me).
Currently I am dealing with a crank, no start issue.
What i have done:
- New Battery
- 3 New grounds off the battery (made with 4 AWG OFC cable and copper terminals
- New CKP and CPS
- New Fuel + Seafoam
What my issue is:
- Started with the stuff i needed to get it powered up. once grounds, fuel, and battery were done, i attempted starting it. Truck would crank, sputter, started briefly for a couple seconds (was a rough idle).
- After verifying that all was plugged in, fuel pressure was within range (fuel psi is a little low at 46-50PSI instead of the standard 58PSI at the rail), i tried again. The same happened, however, it shortly stopped sputtering and started dry cranking.
- Replaced CKP, CPS with new BWD sensors. Same behavior from the truck.
- Tested for 5v from CKP, CPS, TPS, IAT, OPS, and MAP. All showed 5V from power to ground, but i believe all were showing 5V from ground to signal.
Truck has been abused offroad, and sat for about 3 years. I don't have a good scanner yet, a proper multimeter, scopes, etc. PCM has rust on the lower part, and definitely looks aged. Truck has seen water multiple times. I am showing 0V from negative to frame, body, and block.
Is there anything I am missing that could be a culprit before i start looking into expensive tools and a PCM?
