I have a new 06 Ram 1500, 4.7L, 5 speed auto, regular cab, short bed, 2WD, 3.55, 1200 miles on it, and I get 14 mpg - all highway driving 60-70 mph. Is this the realistic mpg I should expect? This is my first Dodge and my only frame of reference was my F150 4.6L which got about 17-18mpg.
2002 Quad cab 4.7 with 3.92 auto. Best tank I got was 17.2 at 70mph. around 12.5 city. It should get better as it breaks in. After 4 or 5 thousand miles.
I just bought my 06 QC with the 4.7 and my readout is showing 12.6 MPG and when I filled the tank up it said that I would get ~300 miles on the tank which seems incredibly low to me for 25 gallons of gas. I just traded in my Mustang GT that I drove like a bastard and it got better gas mileage than my Ram so I am hoping that it will get considerably better as the truck breaks in.
2004 Ram QC 2WD w/3.55's 30,000Miles on it, 14.5 to 15 all the way around, just orderd a K&N intake system heard that might help some. Hope I get it in the mail soon!
