Default Body Lift Kit

Hey, I was reading around and I decided that I would rather spend 300$ on a body lift kit, as opposed to the 2000$ for a suspension lift, since I dont offroad that much anyways. I was wondering if there are any super downsides to body lift kits? I was also looking to buy better shocks for my truck, it ride's too "soft" for me. I dont want something that goes up and down a lot to absorb the impact, I want something that's stiff. I was thinking maybe offroading shocks? is there a huge downside to these on normal driving conditions? Also, does anyone know where I can get some cheaper 35" A/T tires, the places around here want 500 and up each, which seems like quite a lot to me, is this around average price?
