Aftermarket manufacturers make what will sell. I've got to believe that somebody out there makes one, but evidently there's not enough market for them to be very available. For an example, do a Google for them for a Wrangler and see how many you find...

They do not exist as far as i can tell. The new front diffs are oddballs and like Mill500 said, aftermarket companies are not going to sink money into research and development on a product that very few people will purchase.
Why do you feel that you need a locker in the front anyway? Do you have one in the rear? You would be suprised at the difference a rear locker makes. I would suggest going that route first. I'm sure you will be more than satisfied.

How hard are rear lockers to install? I know you were saying about the Detroit Tru Trac, does it kick in like instantly as soon as the wheel slips? I find the stock LSD, less than adaquate, although it has gotten me out of sticky situations. Should I get a shop to install it?

The truetrac is "instant traction". It functions muuuuch better than the stock lsd. It engages very quickly and provides traction when needed most.
You will need to have it professionally installed.

I have also been looking for front lockers for the 1500 rams. No one seems to sell one. I would prefer an electric locker, that way you wouldn't have to put up with the scrubbing of the front tires all the time. I emailed Eaton a while back, and asked if they are going to make a "Electrac" or "E-locker" for the 2002-2005 rams. Their comment was "Not at this time". The week between christmas and new years, A few buddies and I went mudding in a field. I got stuck trying to pull out a 2WD chevy, and had to have a F-150 pull me out. We video taped it, and I couldn't help but notice how much the front tires don't turn when slippery. I know I need better tires for those kinds of terrain, but still would like to have something in the front differential. If anyone new a shop, or company that would set up a group buy for a front locker of some kind, I bet we could pull together enough people to make it worth while.

If you have a dial indicator and some patience you can install it yourself. It is really a lot easier than most people say. If you google it there are a lot of web pages out there that give directions on how to do it on a variety of rear ends.

I was thinking that, if we emailed a company and was like "Hey X ammount of people want this, can you make it for us?"

I hate to be sarcastic...but...don't hold your breath. Unless when you say x amount of people you mean thousands.

All these people looking for front lockers...try a rear locker for a while, you might end up deciding you don't need a front locker as much as you thought.
Anyway, if someone decides to make a front "selectable" locker for our trucks then i will be the first one in line to buy one. Keep in mind that they don't even make a "selectable" locker for the rear diff in our trucks.

Happy hunting and good luck
