Default Question about factory installed Sirius

I have an 06 QC with the Sirius radio (which I have not yet activated) and I am looking to replace my entire system in the truck, but would like to keep Sirius. I had XM in my old car and it had the antenna, which connected to the XM tuner, which then connected to my head unit. The main reason why I would really like to keep the factory setup of the Sirius is because I dont want to have to run a new antenna and was hoping that the factory antenna was connected to some type of tuner before it got to the factory head unit. In that case I could replace the head unit in the car and get whatever connector that I needed to connect to the new head unit.

Is this possible? I really like how the factory antenna is installed under the head liner so I really hope I can do this. I searched the forums here but havent found anything yet. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can take a look at the Sat Receiver and look at the antenna connection. It is near the rear passanger seat.

(Ref: Service Manual Page 8A-165)
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Lower the rear portion of the headliner as necessary to access the underside of the satellite
antenna (2) (Refer to 23 - BODY/INTERIOR/HEADLINER- REMOVAL).
3. Remove the C-pillar upper trim panel (Refer to 23 -BODY/INTERIOR/C-PILLAR TRIM - REMOVAL).
4. Remove the C-pillar lower trim panel (Refer to 23 -BODY/INTERIOR/C-PILLAR TRIM - REMOVAL).
5. Move carpet to access cable (1).
6. Disconnect each end of the cable.

The antenna connects to a satellite receiver which (2006 RAM) is located inside the Instrument panel. There is a wiring harness connection which connects to the satellite receiver to the radio, but these circuits are contained in the main harness. Your aftermarket radio harness adapter will need to accommodate the pass through from the satellite receiver to the radio.

Interesting. Do you know of an aftermark head unit that will accomodate this? I havent purchased one yet mainly because of this Sirius issue so I am open to suggestions.

Looking at the diagram in the service manual it appears that the tuner is under the rear passenger seat, below the carpet. Is that how you understand it? Perhaps I can use that tuner with an aftermarket head unit. Worst case scenario at least I now know how the wires are run and can possibly replace the factory Sirius antenna, tuner, and wiring.
