05 Ram Front End noise
I am about to take my truck to the dealer, but would like some preliminary info first. I did a search on this site, but didn't get any conclusive info yet.
I bought my truck new in July 05. Around November the front end would start to creak. This occurs if I just grab the front fender and start rocking it side to side. The squeak is not always there, just somedays. Doesn't appear to matter if its cold or not. Also, it doesn't appear to happen immediately, but after driving for 20 minutes or so.
Is this a known TSB or something? Its intermittent, so I am sure it won't happen when I get to the dealer...
Thanks!

I haven't seen a TSB on it but the dealer should be able to fix it for you. It would be covered under the bumper to bumper warranty.

I bet its a burr on the sway bar, five seconds with a grinder and they fixed mine. After the repaced the lower control arms and had it on the lift 3 seperate times. Mine would creak when I went over speed bumps slowly.
I get the creak at slow speeds on uneven roads. I think it is most likely the sway bar as well, so I will have them look into that. I doubt control arms. So there was a little bit of the swaybar rubbing against the end link bushings or something?
Thanks

I had the creaking sound coming from the front end. Took it to the dealer, found a rubber bushing center of the hood that sits on the rad support, trimmed it back, squeak is gone. Sounded like a control arm or sway bar bushing. You can't make this stuff up!
