Is the Hemi losing power in the higher speeds?
I usually never race someone, but I couldn't resist stomping this vw golf that was next to me. He had a body kit and some dual exhaust. We were rolling at about 40 to 45 mph, and I punched it on him. The Hemi opened up and I pulled on him. But after about 60 to 65 mph, he walked right passed me. By the time I was at 100mph he had atleast 5 lengths on me. I was kind of embarased because my wife was with me. Is there something wrong with my truck. The Hemi is suppose to pull like a freight train in the higher speeds.
That VW Golf could have had ANYTHING under the hood. Thats the first point. Secondly, probably more important, your truck weighs over 5,000 lbs. Do the same thing against another half ton, that will give you a better measuring stick as to how the Hemi pulls on the high end.
you get a hell of a launch at 25 to 30mph. if you don't already have headers, they give a good high end boost. after instal on the ones in my hemi, i floored it and almost **** my self with the suprise.
yeah dude do not feel bad because for all you know that vw could have been using NOS or even worse that little winnie rocket actually could have a good racer inside.
I know a guy with a 1.8T GTI that runs 13's with a exhaust, CAI and tune. And that only cost him like $800. But yeah, once you get into 3rd gear it's down hill for the Hemi. Unless you have nitrous, forget about street racing...unless your like me and don't care if you lose!
