Default Auxillary Lighting

If you have successfully mounted fog / driving or emergency lights 'behind the grille' of a 2005 Ram please provide your details of how it was accomplished; especially the mounts, type of lights and all hook-ups. I have seen pics of several forum member trucks that appear to have lights mounted in this fashion; all instructions, specific suggestions and thumbnail pics will help. Your information and expertise is most welcome and surely appreciated!
Thanks,

A lot of folks are installing Hella 500 lights. There should be a horizontal frame member in front of the radiator that you will need to drill through, to install the lights. Just make sure you drill where there's a slot in the frame member, so you can gain access to fasten the lock nuts to secure the lights.

You'll need to use a 30 amp relay (comes with the kit). There are normally four terminals on the relay. #30 should be directly wired to the positive on the battery, using 10 ga wire with a 20 amp fuse. #85 should be wired to ground, and #86 should be wired to both lights. It's O.K. to swap #85 and #86, since these are the coil leads for the relay, and it makes no difference in the operation. #87 is the trigger terminal. This can be tapped into the high beam wire at the head lamp on the driver's side, if you want the new lights to come on with the brights, or you can direct wire this to the switch that comes with the kit, with the the lead wire from the switch going to a power source with a 5 amp fuse. The switch that comes with the kit has three terminals. The third terminal goes to ground. Also, both lights have ground leads that you would ground to the frame member the lights mount to.

Run all wires inside of loom tubing.

A few pics attached.

Thanks for the information and pics; I was hoping that a suitable bolt-on / clamp-on mount might be available, however drilling may well be the best solution. Your system looks excellent and it seems that the grille does not diffuse the light in an adverse way.
Any additional options or suggestions are welcome as well***

Thanks again!
