Default Mellotone Exhaust...

I went to a muffler shop today and talked to the guy about exhaust for my truck. He told me straights would be too loud on a Dodge and I would get a ticket. He said glasspacks would pop off too much. I asked him about the flowmaster 40 series and he recommended a mellotone muffler instead. He said it was the same as the flowmaster but cheaper. To do it there would cost $235 for the mellotone. Is that a good price? Can I get some opinons about the mellotone? I told him I wanted it loud and thats what he recommended.

I just had the Magnaflow put on my truck and it sounds awesome. I never heard of the brand you are mentioing. Flowmaster was a little loud for my taste. Check Sound Clips. The prices are about the same for the shop you went to wants to charge. My $.02

Seems awful expensive. I had a 3" in / 3" out Flowmaster installed for $90 on my truck and my neighbors are still pissed...

I have a super 40 flowmaster and it sounds great and loud. Many people complain about the drone but it really does not bother me because I am used to the muscle sound.

Isn't the noise the main reason we get and aftermarket exhaust?

I still crack a smile when i hit the gas
