question
No, posi is full-time two wheel power, where as limited slip [in theory... people on here will detest the quality of the factory Limited Slip] one wheel engages after the other slips, to create a temp posi, until both wheels have traction again, then is disengages.

I don't know what name the Dodge guys had (torque-loc?) for their limited slip diff. back in the day (does GM still use the old Posi-trac name?). Ford used to call their LSD 'Trac-Loc' and as I Ford guy I would get frustrated when people called it 'posi'. I knew they were just using the word in the same way people say 'Kleenex' instead of 'Tissue' - it's just become a common enough word that it's become non-brand specific.
Almost every automaker has some type of LSD, although I don't think many of them use the fancy names anymore. Just like automatic transmissions had names instead of models in the '70s but don't now. Torqueflight anybody?
As far as I know, almost all production LSDs are non-lockers. The only people who went with Lockers were serious drag racers or off-roaders, and the guys who have them will tell you they have their own set of drawbacks on the street. I'm talking about things like Detroit locker, Air-Locker, a spool, or one of the new electronic lockers.
So, uh, after that long-winded reply my comment is that I believe 'posi' is just a clutch type LSD, not a full-time locker.
