Default Reg. 40 series vs. Super 40

I contacted a place here in town and they gave gave me these prices for exhaust. For the reg. Flowmaster 40 series its going to be $295 plus tax. For the super 40 its going to be $319.95 plus tax. The guy really didn't know how much improvement the super 40 would give over the reg 40. Are these prices good? Should I go with the reg. 40 or the super 40? I don't know what the difference is.

Super 40 is louder, also the muffler case is larger so more exhause may pass through. Before I got my super 40 I asked flowmaster and they told me the same thing. It sounds great, I am gonna try to get a good sound clip but I am some what of a novice to cpu game.

I would love to hear a sound clip. This is a big decsion for me right now. I found a place that will do the reg. 40 for $260 out the door. They don't have the super 40 yet and don't know the price of it. They said they would check tomorrow on it. But still I found the reg. 40 for $60 cheaper than I was told elsewhere. I want loudness for my number 1 priority though. So I THINK the super 40 is for me....

Hey dude give me a day or two and I will try to get a sound clip up. But in the mean time I will tell you what I ran for my exhaust. I went with flowmaster bolt on cat back #17397 as well as flowmaster super 40 #9530452 bought them both from summit racing (or jegs same price). Thought I did not use the 50 HD series that came in the cat back system, I sold it for $90 to a friend. All in all it cost me $420. And even if you are not able to put on the bolt on kit your self a shop should be able to do it for a small fee.

I've never had a chance to hear a super 40 but I can tell you that the original 40 has a nice loud rumble to it. I paid $230 for the muffler, custom bent 2.5" pipes and 4" chrome tips.
