This is a common "problem" with nearly all DM auto trannies. When they sit, the fluid drains out. The best thing you can do, is start the engine, put it in neutral, then get buckled up, adjust the radio etc. By putting it in neutral, this starts the front pump working to fill the system back up. When you're done getting ready to ride, its ready to go. This topic came up not too long ago and was explained in more detail---in short, probably nothing wrong, just one of the idiosyncracies of the DM automatic tranny

Thanks for the tip! - Will do that next time!
I just had a similar problem the other morning. I work over nights and went out to the truck ('03 4.7L) at 5am, started it and let it warm up for a couple minutes as it was in the 30s, then shifted into reverse and backed out of my parking spot. When I came to a stop the motor was shaking really bad, idle dipped around, and the headlights dimmed with idle dipping. Shifted into D and it was ok. I guess I'll check out that filter as well.
As I recall, my '05 Owners Manual says something about this and that it is "normal." We had the same problem with my wife's Concorde; again, it's "normal." It's never been normal for any other tranny I've ever owned to sporatically malfunction.
Good luck!
Good luck!
