Default Mopar Remote Start

Does anyone have this feature on their ram pickup?

I am looking into having my dealer install it for me, any input would be helpful

The Mopar unit is a waste of money. They quoted me $380 before install... A remote start is not a complicated install like the dealer will make it sound. Get a quality electronics dealer to install a aftermarket DEI system for $250 and that includes installation.. Do your homework and you will see what I am talking about..

I have the remote start, but I got it for 'free'. It was installed on the truck, and the dealer tried to charge me for it. Didn't happen, threw it in. Anywho, I like it. I mean, I don't see how one could be better then another. I don't know the range, as I usually start it in the house when the truck is about 10ft away in the drive way. You have to unlock the alarm, if you have one, and then hit the auto-start, or else it sets the alarm off and kills the ignition. The only thing that I would change is the MoPar one gives you a seperate key fob for the auto start. Nothing huge, just a little down side.

It costs $200 for the remote kit. The install kit is another $100, and from what I understand is that anyone can install it.

Sounds like most remotes will be seperate. I think that there are a few that will 'learn' your remote for the alarm/locks.

I want the remote start kit myself but am thinking of going aftermarket for the all in one type remotes.
