Default New Springs or Block?

I'm about to buy a lift for my 02 1500 QC. I've lifted alot of Jeeps in my day, but they all had coil springs at all 4 corners. This will be my first IFS/leaf spring lift. I was wondering if I should fork out the extra $600 on new leaf springs? Is the ride quality going to be that much worse with the lift blocks?

If it helps, it's going to been driven off-road a couple times a month, so nothing too extreme.

how big of a lift are you going to be doing.
if you go to big(above a 4" lift) with the blocks I have noticed in my buddys truck it take away from the smooth ride and he then went and forked out the extra money and bought new leaf springs and it was an all around better ride.

I've been looking into the Rough Country 5". Here's the link: http://roughcountry.com/Dodge_02-05_5Xin.htm I"m not too sure what would look better, the 2" block or the 3". I just want to make sure my truck doesn't droop in the front like chevy's do.
I've also been looking into all of the Skyjacker Lifts. I know they are a little more expensive, but I have used Skyjacker before, and I have been nothing but impressed. If the blocks end up sucking, I can always upgrade to some new leaf springs. Are the blocks going to cause a bone-jarring ride or a if-Grandma-rides-in my-truck-she's-going-to-be-pissed ride?

monoxide83, what size lift does your buddy have? If he went over 4", did he have any driveshaft vibrations with the increased angle? I know with Jeeps, it usually occurs after 5" of lift, just wondering if it happens in the dodges also?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to make the correct decisions.

I run a 5.5" Superlift in the front and Skyjacker leaf springs in the rear. I had an add a leaf and 1" blocks originally but after changing to the Skyjacker leaf packs, the ride quality improved quite a bit. I also went with a much better shock which makes a huge improvement as well.

I would advise you to spend the extra money now and go with the Skyjacker lift rather than risk issues with the rough country. There is an obvious difference in the bracketry and components used in the kits and the saying, "You get what you pay for" is as true in this case as it ever was. I originally planned on going with a cheaper kit but in the end opted to save up a bit more money and go with the Superlift. It was a good decision as i am off road quite a bit and have never had problems with any of the hardware from the kit. Some guys will say that they are very happy with their cheaper kits and that's great but i wasn't willing to take that chance.
I have not had any vibration issues at all but i did require a custom front drive shaft because the factory unit could not handle the angle when the truck was twisting and bending in offroad conditions. I destroyed the booted cv. Now i use a design almost exactly like the front shafts in the 2500.

Whatever you decide, good luck.
