Wrecked my truck PICS NOW!!
Yeah, I always preach "hit the stupid animal, it's Darwinisim" and then when it really counts I swerve. It was a combination of speed + sharp corner + unmarked intersection + blind corner + gravel shoulder = airborn Hemi...BANG. Yeah, hit the raccoon next time, I got it.
as far as the Dukes of Hazard fly by goes, those cars were specially weighted to compensate for the engine weight in the front end, thats the reason for your truck doing the U-BOAT impersonation! DIVE!DIVE!DIVE!
Good luck with your repairs,Hmmm, maybe a new hood to replace the stock one??

I think the reason the bed hit the cab might be part body mount bushing part extreme stopping power of the planet earth. LO> j/k. I had a similar DA incident, luckily I didnt hit anything too bad, just ticked off the neighbors when I shot through about 5 front yards at about 50 mph.
Rain + S10 +16 YO driver = Whoa! LOL

Truck went in the shop today. I did grab some pics yesterday but they are still in the camera. I tried telling the guy who did the estimate that the reason the grill was punched out was because the supercharger I JUST put on went flying off upon impact and penetrated the earth so deeply that it was not retrievable. He didn't buy it
. As far as the hood goes it was not damaged in the wreck, nor were the fenders. Just all the plastic up front and the mounts for the drivers side headlight. I also noticed that the impact with the curb knocked two tire weights off the rims, on in the front, one in the back. I will probably get a new rim out of it, I wasn't sure if the scratch was from the wreck or parking but hey, whatever. A new rim is a new rim.

Here are the damage pictures. They came out pretty clear. The body shop called and said they couldn't find clear corner headlights like the ones I have on it now so I am getting OEM replacements. No big deal I didn't like the fitment of these anyway. Enjoy, I will hopefully get some "after" shots in about a week. ----Kevin

There are 8 pics all together. Use the little boxes in the bottom left corner to move through them.

Let me say first of all, glad you are alright. But I learned two things from this post: 1) Don't drive to Canada and 2) Hit the racoon, hose the debris off the bumper, and get the dent taken out and be done with it.
Hope the truck gets fixed.

hahahaha thanks. It is funny, but I put a grille guard on my truck, and I swear a week later I hit a possum doing about 40. It hit the bar that goes in front of the license plate. It didn't dent it, but I did have to hose off the front end. Sorry, probably too much information LOL
Got the truck back on Friday. They did a really good job fixing it up. They even painted the bottom air dam on the front end silver, let me tell you it really cleaned up the look of the front end. I highly recomend this if you guys are looking to make an easy improvement to the front end appearence. My fiancee' noticed something was different when we pulled in to pick it up, which is suprising considering she can barely tell a Ford from a chevy from a Dodge most of the time. I will post pics soon to see if you guys can tell the difference.
