Default Hemi exhaust???

I was looking to put a flowmaster duel exhaust system on my 03 hemi p/u, and I was talking to someone and they said to elliminate the muffler and just put pipes straight back from the Cat , does anyone have some input on this for me? Is this the right thing to do? what about sound and performance, what is the best way to go?

I have a single flowmaster 40 series catback system with dual straight pipes and 4" stainless steel tips. It sounds and performs great.

I would'nt put just straight pipes alone on a hemi because of the lose of back pressure. A lose in back pressure can result in a lose of low end torque. Go ahead and run the flowmaster, you won't be disapointed.

I have stright pipes on my hemi and love it, I also have 3.92s and I felt no loss of low end power. You can't buy my setup b/c I have no cats but if you can find a shop in your area I would do it. I have 2, 2 3/4 stirght pipes dumped before the axle. I would post pics but im over my limit on my u/l site.

My brother has straight pipes, I think his hemi is just as fast if not faster than mine.

As to the pipes, I think they are a bit loud, and he agrees. they are probably the loudest pipes I've ever heard. I'll say this. I have the opportunity to get the straight pipes put on for a low price and I think I am gonna go flowmaster instead.

Go with Aero Turbine 3030 its got a great muscle car sound, a bit pricy but worth it. Also take off the resonator
