bug sheild?
I hate the way the bug sheild looks on my truck. I went to take it off and there are these delicate trim screws holding it in. I started stripping them out trying to unscrew them. Then i finally got one going good and it was backing out. Whats the deal with these things, anyone taking theirs off?
The car wash took mine off for me. Twice. Threw it in the trash it was so wrecked. Getting a new one this week from the insurance company due to my wreck. Rediculous that they think plastic screws will hold that thing on. I lost mine under the blower, not the brushes. Those plastic screws are a pain, if you can get behind them you can just push them out. Don't forget to e bay that bug deflector, I guarantee someone out there will buy it. Just YANK IT!!
Dont tear it out, those screws some off and arent hard to remove.
If you force them you will strip them. I find try sticking your nail underneath the lip of the plastic tap (screw part) while screwing it out. This will ensure they just dont spin around madly. This works well on those types of tabs.
I personally would never remove mine since it helps a great deal deflecting bugs and rocks from my windshield. Lord forbid a small rock shoots out from a vehicle in front of you and cracks your windshield, then you would have wished you kept it on.

Dodge in April 2004 issued TSB 23-011-04, Bug Deflector Loose/Rattling. It specifically references car wash brushes.
