Default Gas milage with MDS

Anyone interested, I got 14 mpg stop and go driving on the first tank full. Calculated by gallions to fill up by miles driven method. 2006 Hemi Reg cab. Hi-way is yet to come. Should improve some down the road. If not,who cares.

Forgive me, but I am unsure as to what you mean by MDS.

Newish (to Chrysler/Dodge anyway), gas saving system that de-activates some cylinders when your cruising. Thus, in theory, saving you gas milage.
I think the jurys still out on that one..............

It means Mutli Displacment System, when u r crussing with your hemi, the computer will shut down cylinders and enable them when the power is needed.

No, the MDS cannot be disconnected. Why would you want it disconnected anyway? You can't feel the engine shutting down some cylinders. My 06 MDS Hemi performs the same as my 05 Hemi did. I'm seeing an average of 2-3 gpm better over the 05. Both trucks are the same as far as exterior options concerned. Both Quad cab and 3.92 gears.

You must have super human senses my friend. I've had numerous people ride in my truck and let a few of my racing buddies drive it and not a single person can tell when it engages. I know it is engaging because of the increased MPG. My exhaust is stock, so I can't hear it, but it's interesting to know that with the Magnaflow you can. How noticeable is it? I was considering a Borla exhaust.

Hey 06REDRAM cna you tell us more about how your magnaflow sounds with the MDS engaged? I would think it would sound outright wimpy. that's a pretty big drawback IMO. But I guess if it only happened when cruising on the highway it might be ok.
