Default Lockers, Limited Slip Diffs

Guys I have decided that I am gonna upgrade my 3.55 gears to 4.56s but I have a problem now. I spin in gravel so I need a limited slip or locker what is the best bang for the buck I got a 2wd SCSWB. Dont get me wrong I want the 4.56s to rip the black top and the diff to leave 2 strips and to get better traction.

When I go to 4.56s from the 3.55s do I need to use TOW/HAUL for about 4600lbs I think my ram can pull it *SMILING*

Detroit Locker, it's the best you can buy. Should cost around $500.

Are you planning on spending most of your time on pavement? If so, I'd get some kind of POSI unit. I only have the stock Trac-LOC in the rear of my 4x4. It works very well, and always leaves 2 lines on the road. A true detroit locker may be too much for a "pavement only" truck. Just my $.02

I guess I should have clarified a little. Motorhead426 is correct. I have a Detroit in my Jeep (primarily off-road vehicle), and it works great. Traction could not be better. Whenever you hit the gas, both tires are spinning at the same speed, even if you have a tire in the air. <---That's great for off road, but on the pavement it is hell on your tires . If you hit the gas in the middle of a turn, the inside tire is going to be chirping because it is locked to the outside tire (which is spinning faster). Before I forget, if you go with a locker rather than a posi-trac, just know, that if there is snow on the street, you have pretty much zero turning ability. You have to completely change your driving habits.

Also, you might look into selectable lockers: ARB or Detroit Electrac.

It all depends on where and how you drive.

There is no selectable locker available for the Chrysler 9.25 diff. ARB, Eaton, Detroit all say no go.
I love my Detroit Truetrac though. You might want to check it out. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/TrueTrac.shtml#TrueTrac
