Default sattelite radio....pics appreciated.

Ok I boughty sirius sattelite radio but the sound quality through the fm transmitter is horrid (living near chicago is horrible for them). I was wondering if there is anything i could do to hook it up through my stock equipment. any pics of your set ups would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Alpine Model: CDA-9847 CD deck with the Alpine Model: SIRALP1, which is Sirius Satellite Radio Tuner for Alpine AiNET Satellite-Ready Receiver. It is mounted behind the glove box and wired to the cd deck. Sound is alot better than fm transmitter. Will post some pics soon.

buy an direct wired FM modulator and the in and out antenna adapters for the radio and hook up the satellite radio to that, at least the quality of the sound will be better and your looking at like $35 or so worth of expense... otherwise as others suggest, you'll have to purchase a new headunit with an auxiliary audio in since you already have the Sirius hardware.

I went totally aftermarket. I have a Pioneer Premier P860p deck. Pioneer 12 disc changer and the Sirius set-up. I am very pleased. The sound is as good as if I were playing a cd. I am about to set-up a FM modulated one in my wifes car so I will see how that sounds. The direct wired modulator that vipersforsale suggested would be the only real improvment you could get with the stock deck.

i had a hard time finding a good station to tune to on mine too. i ran a tape/cassette adapter from the lineout on my satellite. it was pretty ghetto but sounded much better and was cheap.....

but i eventually just went totally aftedrmarket. i swapped my deck/headunit with a JVC with sirius tuner. i mounted the satellite behind my glovebox. the clairity is SOOOOOOOOOOO much better and you dont have goofy wires and external satelite unit.

i have also heard of a little audio-input cable you can get that hooks into the cd changer port on your stock deck/headunit. then you can save on buying all aftermarket and use you exiting satellite. do a search on ebay for good pricing.
