I've been doing some internet research. I got a CD deck and bought all the accessories I need to install the bastard but where do I start with tearing out the Center Console so I can modify it? Anyone done it before or can direct me to somewhere where I can take a look at how to get it in?

There should be just one screw behind your little bag hook.
After that the whole center bezel should unsnap from it's 10 clips.
There are several different posts regarding stereo changing out in here.
Also look for the Dodge Ram service manual...that has diagrams in it.

So what kind of deck are you putting in?
I just put a Kenwood in mine last weekend and other than getting the wrong harnesses, it was realy easy.

 

I'm putting in a ALPINE 948 I think? But brand is from Alpine. So anyhow, really easy? ive been looking online for a "how to" lookup and all that but i must be internet retarded, and i looking in the owners manual and all the books they gave me, nothing. Where exactly do I need to start unclipping this stuff for the center console to come out?

Where did you get your stereo from?
If you get car audio through Crutchfield, they send you everything you need to install. Even send you some detailed instructions.
Here's a link to the service manual for the '04 ram...hope you can find something to help you out in there. It'll tell you just how to take everything apart in there.

The wires for the radio should be color coded telling you exactly which are which.
The radio intsalltion kit (wire harnes) should as well tell you what colors are what.

You will need a Metra radio kit (The best), Metra wire harness and a antenna extender.
It's really simple.

 

Thanks, yeah well I actually got the deck from a Chevy owner who I know and he handed it over with the Chevy harness so I have to buy that but I got the antenna kit and everything else. Just need to know how to pop the console out, but I"ll get into it and then hit back with what troubles I'm having.
