Default AM Reception

I get really poor AM radio reception. Is this normal? Does anybody know how to improve it? And no I am not going to get satellite radio.

Default RE: AM Reception

I listen to shortwave, 144 Ham and 460 business frequencies in my Ram and have battled ignition noise.

The Magnecor 'CN' series of ignition wires cut this noise in half
but did not get rid of it entirely.

If you put a fiberglass hard tonneau on the back of your truck
consider making a multi-turn loop antenna and attach it to the
under side of the tonneau. This worked real well for me on
all AM frequencies - until Hurricane Wilma ripped my tonneau off entirely!

There are TSB's about radio interference in Rams at:
http://dodgeram.info/tsb/group_08.htm

the owner of that webpage is a ham and has put together a radio in Rams page too:
