Does Kenne Bell still offer the twin screw supercharger for the 4.7L? If so does anyone have it, heard anything about it?

I beleive it was discontinued, they had a problem with detonation and could never get it resolved. Look around someone prolly still has it on a shelf somewhere.

I had a buddy that had a Paxton setup on his 4.7. I'm not sure what happened but it never ran right (and it was installed correctly). After having it on for about a year, and rarely driving the truck, he ended up removing it, and having the dealer replace the engine (under warranty). Don't ask how he got it under warranty, I'm still puzzled. But I have not heard of too many 4.7's running that well on forced induction. Couldn't tell you why either. Maybe someone else here has one and has had better luck.

It seems like the 5.9L is the only one able to have forced induction without any major problems. Is that correct?

I believe that the 4.7 can be supercharged, but so far none of the kits have gotten it right. I know there are some wicked SC Dakotas out there. Check out Fastman.com. He is knowledgable in all things 4.7. If you want forced induction it will have to be custom and it won't be cheap. If you want quick power I'd strap on a bottle.

Both the 4.7 and 5.7 have piston designs that moved the top ring close to the top of the piston.
This is good for reducing pollution but makes it hard to supercharge without overheating the area above the top ring and causing the destruction of the engine.

4.7 piston

either engine could be successfully supercharged if you swapped in a revised (forged) piston and went to a different engine control computer like the F.A.S.T., Haltech, Motec, or 'open source' MegaSquirt.
