Lemon and Hydrolock
Sorry to hear about another hydrolock incident. Please do a search here and possibly DT website. What they are claiming as Hydrolock is the fact that when they pulled the air filter out, they found water on the down stream (no pun intended) side. Meaning you introduced a non compressable fluid into the combustion chamber. There have been incidents just like yours that DC has covered.
And yes they are aware of this situation too. In fact one of the guys on this forum had it happen to him out in the middle of nowhere when he was off-roading with his family I believe.
It sounds like you have already done the direct approach to DM, so now you need to find a Television Station in your area that acts like a consumer advocate group. We have one here in my area called Newscenter 16 WNDU. You write them telling them your story, and eventually, they end up at the Dealership (in your case) with a TV crew and tape rolling to question them and even contact law enforcement and other groups that they have connections with. It has brought many rip off artists to JUSTICE!!!!!
To bad YOU cant do like the old discount tire commercial and just drive the truck through the dealers front window!!!!!
I do know this. DM really screwed up when they set that CAI in the fenderwell for 4x4's. Before I do any water work with mine, That stupid box setup is coming out or being substatially modified to stop this

That sounds like something your insurance should cover, like hitting something in the road.
I would write Dodge a letter. But I can tell you through experiance that if you can't find a dealership to help you your S.O.L. In that case I would try to find a lemmon law attorney and get their advice.

my first thought after reading the initial post...possibly a "troll" I mean that sounds like a lot of stuff to happent to a brand new dodge ...and parts of it don't make sense...and a 3-5" puddle of water? I've seen small cars with water up to the door in Corpus Christi and they were fine...I dunno, that post is just suspicious...just my 2 cents...sorry to offend
Yes it all seems really suspicious, and the pic in my avatar is pic of my friends 2005 4x4 and it made it through that puddle just fine. As you can see the water is about 4 inches from the top of the back tire. My truck blew up on the way to this outing, I didnt even get to take my truck there, hell I didnt even make it off roading once. We were both heading up there, and mine blew up about a mile from this place in clearlake california. So I road with him and we had fun before I had my truck towed home to the SF bay area, over 100 miles, luckily AAA plus towed it home and it cost me 20 bucks for the extra milage over 100, normally a 800 dollar tow. My salesman failed to tell me about the free towing from chrysler that follows the 7/70 warranty!
The engine did have a knock to it, and the dealership claims its normal, and I have service orders documenting the incident. The funny thing is the engine still runs, it starts up builds oil pressure the whole nine yards, it just makes a god awful noise like metal knocking metal, and I have heard this sound before in my 82 elco that I had with 150000 on it, the engine made the same sound on the freeway when the rear main blew out. The motor seized itself.
I agree if my motor hydrolocked then it wouldnt turn over minutes after it died, and start up. The guy who inspected the truck only took of the cold air intake system, he didnt pull the engine or even intake manifold. Just looked through throttle body from what I can gather.
There has been no modifications too it at all except for some stickers on the back windows. I do have the stock cold air intake on the truck, and when I hit the puddle the engine just shut down. so I pulled over and try to start it up and it started up and I shut it down immediately because it was making a god awful sound.

I would definetly have it towed to another dealership. And like some already posted, save the angry laywer stuff for a very last ditch effort. I'm a big fan of calling/emailing the local media. Hell, on a saturday, get some friends and hold a friendly picket line at the dealership, bet that gets some attention, and it's legal.
That clears it up a little more. Try another stealership and tell them what happened. You keep switching from saying cold air intake and stock intake. They are two different things. If everything is stock, I can't see why they are giving you crap about the warranty unless there was a lot of water in the intake - not just moisture - and/or they are just a $h!tty stealership which wouldn't surprise me. Just keep trying and like others have said, steer clear of the lawyer threat. That will just pi$$ everyone off and get you no help at all.
I've never understood why dealerships are a$$es about warranty. It not like they don't get paid for warranty work.

I actually fired my laywer today and Im getting a new one, I have tried several dealerships or Stealerships as one person referred to them as!! To my knowledge the stock intake is a cold air set up, thats Why I kept referring to it as a CAI. Sorry for the confusion, you all have been a great help, Im going to try to contact my news media again, they blew me off last time. I will keep you all posted on it, and once again thanks, and maybe I can have my faith renued in dodge once again.
P.S. The time my truck was in my possession and not being fixed by the dealership or the dealership running it into a pole. Yes you heard me... I loved that truck, it was so much fun to go cruisin down the highway, and loved the fact that if I needed the power it was there, especially to show up some rice rockets. LOL!!! HEMI POWER still rules!
