Default MDS Question

I'm fairly technical, but don't know sh*t about this new MDS technology.

What's mods were done to the 05 hemi to make it MDS? Or even a better question, can MDS be added to my 05 RAM Hemi?

I'm sure a lot of this is computer, probably some new electronics. But I wonder if this could be added to a previous year hemi, or would it be cost restrictive?

Default RE: MDS Question

Its basically the same MDS engine they'd been using the chrysler 300c and the charger (5.7 hemi anyways). So what happens is the engine shuts down 4 of the pistons when you don't need them and starts em back up when you do. They claim you get 20% better mileage, and maybe you do. But on the sticker it is listed as only 1 mpg better than the '05. I drive an '06 1500 QC with this engine and I get high 17s on the highway. Occasionally I'll get 19 or 20 if the road is flat and there's no wind.
