55k+ on my '03 Hemi and the steering gear is leaking like crazy from the drivers side. Anyone else know of this or have this problem?

My thought it that is is leaking from where the steering column I-shaft enters the top of the steering gear. Good thing I drive it mostly on the weekends. Could it just be a bad seal?

Be sure to check the hose clamps. They are known to leak.

 

I've only had my truck for 1 year, 20,000km's on it... When I went to get my exhaust done, had it up on the lift, and noticed the power steering was leaking like friggin' crazy... Took it into the dealership at 7am the next morning, and 3 other new rams showed up with the same problem... The service writer at the dealership said it was a huge problem...

I guess they just replaced my hoses and clamps and now I'm good to go...

 

yep, had it happen a week or so ago......as soon as I said I had just checked my fluid reservoir, he cut me off and said, "ya, ya, we'll fix it".

Seems like he's seen it before!!!!

 

happened to me 2 weeks ago hose clamps loose as well as leaking somewhere else 3 or 4 drops a day

 

happent to me 1 week ago. Changed the hoses. I am good now

 

just got mine back from the dealer. replaced the return lines for the steering. Had mine leaking from the front driver side. will have to wait and see if it solved the problem.
