Default Factory Tires

I'm in the market for new tires for my truck. Everywhere I go I get the same story. Salesman "what kind of truck do you have?"
Me "2003 Dodge Ram 1500 QC"
Salesman "Is it a Hemi?"
Me "No, it is a 4.7"
Salesman (looking at computer) "I see here that your truck takes 16's, what kind of tread pattern do you want?"
Me "My truck has 20" goodyears on it now and I would like to go back with Goodyears or Kellys.
Salesman "Oh, I see, you have aftermarket wheels and tires on your truck"
Me "No, They are the factroy rims and tires as far as I know"
Salesman "Only the 03 Hemi came with 20 inch tires"

Ok, help me here, what is going on, I bought this truck used. Did someone change out the wheels and tires or could you get this truck with 20's as an option? To further confuse me , the placard on the door states that this truck has 16 inch tires on it. It is the mid level trim package. Thank you for your insights on this matter.

The salesperson is a moron. The 20's were an option, just like it is with the Hemi. I have the Hemi and 17's. That brings up a good point, the std. Rim was a 17", not a 16" inch cause they won't clear the rotors.

I'd take the truck to a different shop. If you want to shop different tires, go to www.tirerack.com

Repeat.

The Goodyears SUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK... Yes, whenever you get a new truck, you might have the tendancy to do a few burnouts, I admit I did... But it's still no reason to have 4 worn out tires (on the front too) after 20K... Unless you're doing 60-second burnouts every damn day or something rediculous...

I just put new tires on my truck, I love them... Hope they hold up well...

I agree that the factory Goodyear's are rather poor performers, especially in the rain/wet conditions.
