2.50" or 3.00" Muffler? Any Info Please!
Im looking to replace the muffer on my 05 Hemi QC 4x4, was planning to leave the resonator on because ive heard it doesnt quiet it down all that much and to be honest I really just want a little more sound. My question is due to the exhaust piping being 2.75" what size muffer would you run? I know for a fact that 2.50" exhaust can support well over 400hp without a problem but I dont know if people are having better luck running the 3". If any of you guys have done a similair switch or have any info on this please let me know. Im not really looking to gain anything from this other then sound but if I did It would be nice.
Thanks in advance!
I put the Flowmaster 50 Series HD muffler on my Hemi and I think it sounds awesome. I got dual outs but I got the 3" in and 2.5" out. This muffler is supposed to allow more flow for performance too, but I cant tell a noticible difference.

If you go SI/SO go 3" on both sides, if you go SI/DO go 3" in and 2.2" to 2.5" out, if you go any bigger on the exit side (on dual outs) you will lose scavenging capabilities and your truck will run like a dog... I began with a 3" SI/SO with no resonator, it ran like the wind but the drone got to me about 8 months into it. Than I went to 3" in/ 2.25" dual out side exit before the wheel (flow 50). I love the sound it makes and the way it rumbles at idle. It has very little drone... here is a vid of it on a cold day...
