Hemi owners."Stalling, Hard starting or Hesitation.".. TSB
Dodge included this memo with my new 2006 Hemi Ram.
..."Poor quality gasoline can cause problems such as hard starting, stalling, and hesitation. If you experience these symptoms, try another brand of gasoline before calling service center."

Luckily I've been able to get away with running 87 octane and never once had a problem, brand didn't seem to make a difference. I tried going up as high as 91 octane, but I didn't really notice much of a difference.
Sorry man ... I dont buy it.
I owned a 03 w/4.7l, 05 5.7l and now a 06 with a 5.7l.
It makes no difference what I ran/run. I experienced all issues intermittently at one time or another with 87, 89, and 91 from cheap G stations right on up to and including Mobil/BP/Shell etc etc.
I love / luved all my truck and believe Dodge is the best out there. However, Dodge is full of crap.
If your watching Dodge ...shame on you ...
My truck has stalled 3 times since I bought it new about a year and a half ago (I have nearly 40k miles already).
The first time, it only had 600 miles on it, I owned it for exactly 2 weeks... I was driving through a neighbor hood at about 1AM (making a Taco Bell run), and as I slowed down for a stop sign and almost came to a complete stop, the truck shut off! I put it in park and turned the key... NOTHING HAPPENED!! Then, I noticed that even though it was in park, the gear indicator still showed "D".
I still had the window sticker in the center console and called the roadside 800 number. They towed it away and I had to call a freind at nearly 2AM to pick me up. Next day, the dealer called me and said my ECM failed, and they needed the truck for a few days. I was obviously not happy and lost sleep over what I just bought (including the Regency Conversion).
I had to fight for a loaner car. A few days later, I went to pick it up, and realized the outside temp in the computer indicated 130 degrees. I showed them, and they ordered a new computer (for the info console above the rear view mirror). A week later, the part showed up and the tach that was going to installed it realized the original computer was fine and just had to be reset.
They told me the ECM failed because they thought I was too hard on the truck, and it must have just "shut down" to protect itself. I told them outright that I thought they were full of crap and they obviously didn't know what they were talking about. I told them that if that's the case, give me back my '02 Tundra that I had traded for the HEMI that was supposed to be a performace engine. They back peddled and said they didn't know what happened, but the got it covered under warranty (like they did me a favor).
A few months later, I started the truck and the engine started surging, even for a couple seconds after it was in gear. A few weeks after that, after accelerating quickly and braking quickly, the idel got rough and it stalled. I brought it to another dealer, and they found nothing wrong.
A couple months later... same scenario accelerated quickly and braked quickly, it stalled again. I went to another dealer and told them to find the problem or else enact the lemon law.
At the end of the same day, they called me to pick it up and said it was done. They insisted the truck was fine, and yet they didn't find anything. I got in the truck, and started driving away, and my seat belt chime starting going off because I wasn't wearing my belt. It had NEVER done that, the light used to just come on solid, but now the light would flash every few seconds and chime. I went stright back into the dealership and asked them what they did to make the seat belt chime work (I had never even known before that it wasn't working before), and they insisted "we didn't do anything at all". I asked if they reflashed the ECM or anything, and they swore they didn't do a thing.
They must have done something, because after that vist, the stalling problem went away and now the seat belt chime and flashing light works... It has now been almost a year and 30k miles since then and I haven't had a problem. They must have done something that day.
I know one thing for sure, they did not take any "bad" fuel out of my tank and replace it with any better fuel!! I think they flashed the ECM or something, but I do not know for sure.

That sounds correct to me too.
When they flashed the ECM, the standard factory settings came into play. This meant your set belt chime etc was re-enabled which you can disable by fiddling with the ECM. Same as setting the time delay for the headlights to go out etc.
My 2p worth.
