'03 Quad Cab stereo question/problem
New guy here with a problem,
Bought an '03 Quad Cab a few months ago w/the 5.7. Love the truck, looks and power and everything..............
Problem is with the 6-disc changer/stereo. Once in awhile the thing will shut off like you hit a mute button. All display is still there, radio or CD, no obvious reason. Sometimes it will come back on suddenly when it is running, but usually when the truck is restarted. Sometimes last five minutes, sometimes 5 days, and seems to be happening more often. I thought of a loose wire or something like that, but it shouldn't just keep coming back on by its own.
Was wondering if this is an internal thing with the radio itself, or could possibly be in the steering wheel radio controls, or ignition. Don't want to put a new radio in the thing if it isn't going to help.
This ever happen to anyone else? Any suggestions?
