Warranty question...
If for some reason I need to take my truck in for warranty work (knock on wood) how am I to prove that I've done all necessary maintenance to the point of the failure? I do most of my own fluid changes and everything, so do I give them the AutoZone receipt for the oil and filter or what?
Yes. Keep the receipts and keep them along with your records of the date, mileage, and work performed that you did on your own. I have been changing oil on the ranch on vehicles and heavy equipment before I was even legal to drive them and when I purchased my first Dodge, an 05 Hemi, they told me I couldn't do my own oil changes. If I didn't pay for them at the garage to do it, it might cause problems with warrenty issues in the future. Well, I finally talked them into letting me do it myself and they stressed that I keep clean records and save all reciepts. Funny thing was, when I had them do the first oil change, they didn't tear out the tab in the maintaince book like they are suppose to. So, we will see how much smoke they are actually blowin my way.
My main point is to yes, keep receipts in your own maitenance book and keep the records clean and neat for them just incase they ask.
