Default ATF+4 mixed w/power steering fluid in ps reservior?

Is ATF+4 compatible with regular power steering fluid? I topped off my ps reservoir with standard ps fluid then discovered that my truck uses ATF+4. Should I drain and start all over?

The real question is why the PS fluid was low in the first place. Is it leaking somewhere?

As far as compatibility, I'm not sure. You can always flush the system with fresh ATF+4 to be on the safe side.

Power steering leaks have been a huge problem on the 3rd gen rams... Or so the service writer at my dealership told me...

I just had to have my hoses and the resovoir replaced under warranty a few weeks ago...

I do know that you could always put trans fluid in power steering but never power steering fluid in the trans. So I would have to say you will be alright unless you take it in for warranty work.
