7mpCouple of RCSB Hemi questions
My main question is about the gas mileage of this truck. My current truck is a Dakota CC V6 5spd., and it is rated at 15 city/19 hwy like the 2wd Hemi Ram is. I average about 17mpg usually; would it be wishful thinking to expect an average of 17mpg out of this truck? My second question is about its tranny. Can anything be done about the truck having 2 overdrives? Is this a bad thing performance-wise? Last, what are the best times you guys honestly hear about the RCSB Hemi Ram running, 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile? I am considering a KC Titan with big-tow pkg. or the Ram, btw. Thanks for the replies
I have a RCSB and my mileage sucks. I also have a lift with 35" tires, so I can't really ask for to much. I have been averaging between 12 and 13 mpg. I like how the tranny is set up. Seems like with mine, the last OD only hits when I am past 60 or so. The two second gears are pretty handy.
I have a 2004 hemi SCSB and I have it completly stock, 17 inch rims, 2wd. I can get around 18.2 mpg. I have added a cold air intake and a superchip flashpaq programer set to good gas mileage. I havent been to fill up yet but I am getting way better than I was.
Wow, 18.2 is pretty impressive with this truck from what I hear. That is better than my current truck gets, which is in the 17's usually. Do you think the Titan gets better gas mileage than the Ram? I know a lot of people say 'gas mileage doesn't matter, it's a truck', but it matters to me because I'm on a tight budget (aka college budget) but i need a truck.
