Default new to forum, questions

Hello, I just picked up an 03 Ram 1500 yesterday. It has 61000 km., and I was wondering if there is anything I should be aware of or have checked that a person wouldn't normally think of. For example, when reading another post I got the impression that if you have a hemi you shouldn't use regular fuel, did I read that right?

DC recommends 89 for best performance with the Hemi, you can use 87 octane. Things to look for are:
1. The torn weather seals on the front A pillar where the door edge rubs against them, there is a TSB about this and new seal design to prevent this
2. The power steering hoses leaking due to crappy hose clamps, you can just replace the hose clamps on them.
3. Check the rear end if you have the LSD as the C-clips like to fall off and grenade the rear end, transfer the 7/70 warranty for like $150 if the dealership didn't do that for you
4. Check the owners manual for maintenance requirments. Like at 30K you need to change the plugs, ATF fluid, diff fluid, etc. Can be spendy if done at dealer. Yes, you can do it.
5. DC has had a few flashes for the computer, be sure those are done. These were to help eliminate the tranny hunting and stalling while under load while turning, like into a parking space with the A/C going, nothing major.

That's about all the common stuff I can think of. This was not to worry you as all of these are really simple things and are the most common complaints we hear on DF. Welcome to DF and I hope you are enjoying your new truck
