Default CD player problems?

I have just the base cd player in my 06 ram. When I burn a CD to play in it, I can't get it to play. I'm burning it in general format so it is suppose to play in all cd players. Every now and then I get it to play, but when I stop my truck and get back in it doesn't play anymore. I get Err CD. Anybody have any ideas on how to get this to work? I checked the cd in my wife's Envoy and they play just fine.

Dude with burned cds its the format of the CD player that dictates if it plays or not. I have no problem with burned CDs in my 03

Burned CD's play fine in all my Dodges 04, 05 and 06. Doesn't the 06 Ram CD player also play MP3's?

Have you tried getting the radio swapped with the dealer? It might be a defect in the factory radio, the laser on the cd player maybe out of alignment. Aligned enough to play store bought cds but not burned ones.

Try telling the dealer that the problem happens off and on with regular CD's. Don't mention the burned ones. They might just swap it out for you under warranty.

thanks, that's probably what I'll do. There seams to be something wrong, because it will work once every now and then. As far as the mp3, you have to go a step up to the 6disc player. I'm using just general format for the cd. It is suppose to work in all cd players. anyway, thanks

My 06 plays copied cds fine. Try a diffrent brand of blank disc like MEMOREX. It should'nt make a difference but it can. Tell your dealer right away so they have a record of the issue.
