Default 545RFE automatic transmission

Picked up a 2004 ram 1500 a couple of weeks ago and had the first chance to do some towing with it. Does anyone know if it is possible to put on an overdrive lockoff switch on after the fact. Came back with a full load in the trailer and it was constantly hunting between 4th and 5th through the hills in tow/haul mode. Not just at the bottom and top of the hills. You'd go up and hill and it would cycle back and forth at about 1-1.5 second intervals. On a 3/4-1 mile hile that means it upshifted/downshifted about 35 times. I know the OD lockout switch was an option at the factory when they were built. Can this be installed after the fact. And in reality it doesn' need to drop it all the way to 3rd. I just need to be able to lock it out of 5th for some of the hauling it will need to do.

There is a TSB for that problem and the solution is to reflash the computer. That should take care of it.

The tow\haul flash is worth the trip. I had it done and can tell a world of difference.
