does anyone know where i can get a new tailgate for my 05'. my cousin rearended me when we were moving. luckily i had the tailgate down so he didnt get my bumper also. really screwed up the front of his f-150. busted all the lights and tore out the grill. my tailgate only has two marks where his grille supports hit at. would probrably be cheaper to just replace the tailgate than to get it fixed was what i was thinkin.

if anyone knows where i can get one please let me know.

 

Don't know where you are located, but try calling Newcomer's in Waynesboro, PA. Call information for their phone number, as I can't seem to find it. It is a HUGE late model pickup truck salvage yard. Prices are really reasonable. They also sell and install new utility beds, so sometimes you can get new takeoff beds, back bumpers, and tailgates less than 1/2 the price of new.

 

Just as an off the wall temporary easy fix... why not just put a bed liner in? The tail gate protector has a lip that comes up and over the top of the tailgate, so if it's not dented horribly, this will cover it up and make it look clean till you feel like forkin over the cash for a new tailgate?

I don't know what the damage is, and like I said just temporary till you feel like spending more money???

 

Also some times I see them very cheap on EBAY, They will paint it the color you want too!!

There is an auto parts retailer up here called "Dick's Auto Parts". not too far from me. He also carries take off beds for trucks from truck conversions. I usually go by his place a couple of times a week on my way home from work. I have never had any dealings with him, but would be happy to give him a call if you like. go to craigslist.com, then check out auto parts in your area. I'm in san diego, someone has one on there.
