Default Muffler break in time?

Just had my Magnaflow 14259 installed this morning. I only had the stock muffler swapped out and kept the resonator. The sound is good, but I'm hoping that it gets a little louder. I only have about 10 miles on it right now. I plan on adding CIA and I have read that makes the exhaust louder also. Anyone else's exhaust get louder after breaking in?

From my past experience it does not get louder, but a little softer sounding. As far as break in period it normally takes about a week, and that is to get rid of the burning smell.

when i had my flows put on my S-10 they deffinatley did get louder over time, i think the guy at the muffler shop said a few thousand miles ......i think. if you are planning on adding a CIA it will give your exhaust a differant sound.

When i had my dynomax installed i didn't really like it at the beginning it wasn't loud enough but after 2 or 3 months it got a bit louder. So just wait and see.

take out the resonator and replace it with a straight piece of piping. a packed muffler like your magnaflows, borlas, dyno max, etc will get louder over time as the packing breaks down. flowmasters, spin tech, mac, and the new edelbrock mufflers would not get louder over time because they are chambered. nothing in the muffler changes over time unless something breaks. so your muffler will probably get a little louder over time. but do what i said at the beginning, and get rid of the resonator. and dont worry about cops too much. they mainly go after the ricers. lol. my mustang is loud as hell...straight pipes with no cats, and 2 18" long straight through glass packs, so basically almost no muffling, and i have it dumped before the axle. it is LOUD and it thumps hard too. cops dont bother me. and they are dicks in my area.
