Ebay Hemi Ram Stripes *BEWARE*
I want to share my experience that I have had in the past two months. Less then two months ago I bought a set of "Hemi Ram" stripes off of Ebay from the buyer getn_place and found today that they are already breaking apart piece by piece. I installed them in a 70 degree shop less then two months ago, and I am not new to graphics so the install went well. At first I did question the thickness of the graphic, but I have never had problems before with other venders vinyl so I just dismissed it. I conteced the seller today letting him know what happend, and offered pics of what was happening. I was respectful, but dissapointed in my first email. He responded that his graphics have never done that on his truck, and was obvious that he did not care. Seeing that his customer service sucks and he did not even take me up on the offer of pictures. I am posting this. I would have been happy with an explanation why it was happening and maybe the offer of another free set of stripes. Now, I have to spend my time removing the stripes and buy another set of good quality...

That is INDEED very unfortunate. Those stripes looked very nice....and that does suck too. Looks like its time to take them off.....

From the looks of the pics you posted, it looks to me like the graphics are chipping off like that due to road debris getting shot up by your tires. All the chipping is happening near the bottom of the fender.
My suggestions, is to spend a few hundred bucks and have a shop paint them on and clear coat over them so you wont have this problem.
I think no matter what vinyl graphics you put on, they will all start to chip due to road debris from your tires.

I also feel the same way... I think 3M makes a CLEAR vinyl that protects areas like that. Install your New graphics and then put the 3M over it to prtect it... I think the 3m is intended for leading edges and such... But It does look like road debree is to blame... not installer nor vendor.

I have less then 1500 miles on this truck since the stripes were installed. They were made to be put in harms way. If they cant handle that, they should not be made. There are guys with other stripes, with a higher grade of vinyl that have had them on for two years with no problem. I cant link to dodge talk, but I also have a thread over there and a vinyl guy posted his opinions..

That being said, it wouldnt hurt to indeed considering in having them painted on under a clear coat or having the clear vinyl paint guards put on over it...
Yep, it's not road debris. The damage is only in the two thin stripes. Road debris would hit also the bottom of the wide stripe. And you can see that the damaged stripe is actually peeling off. I'd think it's a problem with adhesive, rather than with thickness. Peeling off means one thing - the adhesive is not holding. If you did a good job cleaning the area with rubbing alcohol before applying the stripe, then it's the glue problem.
