I'm getting a blue tooth equipped cell phone tomorrow and am thinking of adding Uconnect to my '05 1500 QC. It did not come with it nor do I have the factory radio installed anymore. I've seen alot of posts talking about telematic modules, integrated rear view mirror etc but when I went to www.mopar.com and looked into the accessories, for my truck it came up with either part number 82207853AC or 82207853AE and the picture that is shown is this:



That doesn't look like something that would tie in with a rear view mirror or anything. Has anyone installed this one? Where does it go, how does it tie in, where does the microphone go, will it mute an aftermarket radiom etc?

 

I looked into adding the factory U Connect kit they show in the add ons catalog to my 2005 Daytona. Unfortunately the kit is a stickon mount with the switches etc..funky looking. The dealer told me they dont sell the kit that would go in the factory location, but you could buy it piece by piece $$$. I don't know if they will work with an aftermarket radio. I woulf seek out a stereo guru. IF you get it to work let me know.
PS their was a guy selling a uconnect in the parts fro sale here.

That's kind of what I figured by the picture. Did the dealer say how it tied into "anything" with the truck?
