A couple of you guys said not to get a SUPERCHIPS PROGRAMMER off ebay because it would not work. Here is what the guy on ebay said:


THE UNIT WAS USED ON MY TRUCK, I UNLOADED IT BEFORE TRADING IT IN, I DO KNOW THAT IT WAS UNLOADED AND IT IS GOOD.


I paid $177.50 +$10.00 shipping. It came to my home and looked brand new. I went to superchips web site downloaded instructions and re-programmed my 03 Dodge 5.7 hemi. Worked great. I just wanted to post this for any others who are thinking of doing the same thing in the future. Later,D

 

Well not ever thing of ebay works out for everyone. But I'm glad you got it to work they bring some serious speed to Hemi Ram's

 

I understand that not everything goes as planned. But some were under the impression that once used on a vehicle it could never be used again on another. I just wanted to clear that up. Thanks, D

 

it can be used on another vehicle. however any downloading that has been done in the past has to be undone before useing it on another vehicle.

if you buy one off of ebay and it doesnt work it is mainly cause the programming that came on it initialy is still currently on the sellers vehicle.

 

Yeahh... I think you mis-understood what they where saying. YES you can go from ONE truck to the next BUT it will only do ONE truck at a time. Meaning if you install the SC program into your truck I can not take your hand held and install it on mine. You would have to download your SC program back to the hand held and only then would I be able to use it.

People say to be cautious when buying on E-bay... WHY? because some CROOKS like to up load the SC program into there truck and then turn around and sell the hand held unit... when you receive this unit it will be WORTHLESS because it has been VIN LOCKED to there vehicle... So although you get the nice looking hand held unit... the expensive software is in HIS truck still... so He gets a performance program for FREE... and you get screwed.

So the hand held can only be used on ONE vehicle at a time... the only way to use it on another is to remove the SC program from your truck and return your truck to stock... then the handheld can be used on another vehicle.

In general used tech items on ebay are very risky. Some will asume the risk to save some money but you must know the risk. That being said, you rolled the dice and came up with a 7. Congrats on the good ebay find.
