Is it possible or has anyone done this yet. Swaping out the HEMI 5.7 for the 6.1 HEMI. I know anything is possible but I was just wondering if anyone has put some thought into this.
JUST SUPERCHARGE YOUR 5.7 YOU'LL SAVE MORE MONEY.. OR IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH MONEY I AGREE WITH HEMIMAN: SWAP FOR THE 6.1 AND SUPERCHARGE THE BAD BOY.. OR IF YOU HAVE EVEN MORE MONEY JUST GET THE SRT-10 AND SUPERCHARGE THAT.. LOL.. GOOD LUCK BRO.. KEEP US UPDATED.. IF I RUN MY 5.7 TO THE GROUND I MIGHT CONSIDER THE 6.1.. LOL.
there is a guy on dodgetalk that swapped out all the parts
cam, crank, heads, intake, tb, coil paks, the whole 9 yds. I would assume after all of this you basically have a 6.1
if i were you, i would just supercharge the 5.7 for now until that goes, then opt for the 6.1. you're going to save a lot of money over a 6.1 litre. the 6.1's have more power over the 5.7's because of the parts on it. displacement increase is only going to add 30 or so horse...maybe. bout that in torque too. get all of the 6.1 parts, throw them on your 5.7. indy cylinder heads also had a head they had ported for the 6.1 at the "Mopars at the Strip" show i recently went to in vegas. that would also be an option. all in all, for the same price it'd cost to do the swap, you can be making a lot more power with your 5.7. probably about 150-200 more hp than the 6.1 depending on part pricing and what not.
