Superchip Problem?
Well i was thinking about getting a superchips programmer for my 5.7 Hemi Q/C but i have some doubts!!
The reason is because my friend has a tricked out 4.6 L Ford yea i know its a ford but i was really surprised about how it responded well anyways he had a superchips programmer on his 4.6 and it cause him to get his heads replaced twice already and its only a 2004 is it maybe because he programmed wrong or something can anyone make me more positive about buying this programmer or not?
thx

The 4.6 has major issues with oiling that cause the cams to sieze in the journals or they break valve springs. It has nothing to do with his mods other than possible infrequent oil changes.
Not to mention they like to shoot spark plugs out. The threads didn't extend down long enough. Ford has yet to fully own up on this, but continue to offer "satisfaction assistance" even though the customer is still shelling out major $$$ to replace defective heads with another defective head. SUpposedly they corrected this on the 2004+ 300hp 5.4L motor, but the 4.6L and older 5.4L Triton motors are still affected.
I have some other input, Ford sucks.
I haven't had any problems with Superchips, and can't really think of anyone that has. People complain about the lack of internet updates and shift firmness, but for what it actually does, it is a minor trade off.
