2004 horn honks randomly with ignition off
I bought a used 2004 Ram and it sits in my shop most of the time. While it is sitting with the ignition off the horn will honk randomly, not alot but just one honk every so often. It does this with the key either in or out of the ignition. Does anyone have an idea about what may be happening? Thanks

My Mopar alarm does the same thing. I beeps three times randomly, it freaks the **** out of me sometimes because i'll be right next to it. I have no idea what makes it do it but i dont really care, i just take comfort in the fact that it works.

I had friend with the same thing. 2004 RAM 1500, w/ factory alarm. His horn would just go off. Always in the middle of the night. Took it to the dealer, and they changed out the power distribution center. I think that is the fuse block and that silver module that is connected to it. When he got the truck back, the fuse block was nice and clean, rest of the truck underhood was pretty dusty/dirty.

I had the same problem in my 2004 and I pulled the fuse to make it go away. Soon after, the battery started to die so I pulled the codes. The horn switch was the problem, but even with the fuse out, the dash relay called for power and killed the battery. One dealership in NH did not fix (or try) but my original dealer did. All it turned out to be was the horn button itself. Hope this helps.

Okay maybe this ISN'T your problem.. but more than once... I've stepped on my jeans... had the keyless remote just right in my pocket and set the panic alarm off more than once! Heck the dog even bounced on the pocket and locked and unlocked the truck.
Good luck with your problem.
