Default Exhaust System or Muffler???

I'm thinking about getting a Flowmaster 40 for my Power Wagon. What is the advantage of getting a complete cat-back system verses just welding in a new muffler?

little to none, just drop the money for the muffler and weld/clamp it in place of the stock one. save yourself about 300 bucks and use it for headers

The stock exhaust is already stainless steel, so it's good. If you want looks, go with a full system.

I would suggest getting a complete cat-back system. I tossed around the idea of just switching my muffler out for a 50 series HD or getting a Flowmaster system that had a 50 series HD in it. I've had many trucks with cat -back duals that I had a local shop fabricate or me and my buddy put together and I always seem to get a bad sounding exhaust due to wrong tailpipe size or the way I routed it. I went for a complete kit this time and it sounds pretty damn sweet.

If you want duals then get a cat-back kit, if not then just swap the muffler. Mainly because most kits offer mandrel bent pipes. These pipes produce better exhaust flow around bends. Though some muffler shops can bend pipe pretty well, I have not seen many here in Phoenix.
