Default Waxing new 2006 1500

I know that when you have a new paint job done, they tell you to wait a 90 days to wax. My Truck was made April 13 and I am supposed to take possession this Fri, Sat or the following Mon. When should I be able to wax without hurting the paint. I plan on clay first- then Zaino. My truck is being shipped by rail to Iowa then by truck to Topeka.

you can wax right away. The factory bakes the paint coats on, so you are good to seal it yourself.

I dont think you need clay this early. I would use a good cleaner wax like Zymol to get off the minor contaminants. Then use a good fininishing wax after like P100/S100. This is what I did and the paint was glowing to perfection (still is).

Ever heard of Rail Dust, that suff bonds to your finish in transport. The dealer won't do anything for it, other than leaving it on there. You should clay your vehicle.. You'd be surprised what you'll find on that finish, even though it's brand new. Like Srenken stated, you can wax right away since it was baked on. And you should protect it right away. The 90 day thing is for vehicles with aftermarket paint, not stock (baked) on paint.
