Another way to check to see if it has anti slip is to jack one tire off the ground and then try to pull forward. If the truck wants to pull forward then it has anti spin. Caution, don't floor it so it jumps off the jack in case it does have anit slip. Might be a bummer. LOL

how would I go about adding that option? Is it worth it first of all?
You'd have to have the differential changed out. You could probably find a used LS unit in a yard with the same gear ratio that your truck currently has. The labor would be the killer. [:'(]

Can't say if it's worth it or not on the 3rd gens. I know it's worth it on my 2nd gen. V10...though still isn't enough to get me the traction I need [>:] Ladder bars here I come! [8D]

You can always get a LS put in, there are also products such as Power-trax that works like a locker, but are streetable. You can read about Powertrax here.

Not such a bright idea.
Just get in some dirt and light it up. When I do it, I leave two nasty tracks.

wait a second what? let me get this straight.

anti-spin spins only one wheel right? so why does it leave two tire tracks on the road when you peel out.

truck without anti spin spin BOTH wheels? so why does it leave only one mark? and why would you put it up on a jack and it not move when you hit the gas? it spins BOTH wheels not just ONE all the time...

WTF

You're confused.....

The "anti-spin" option is a clutch-type limited slip differental. It's not a full blown posi-traction (locker). It's just limited slip. It's just like the name sounds...it limits the slip/spin.

You should maybe read this article: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm

Specifically this page: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential8.htm
