Default 06 Ram 1500 HEMI??

I just picked up my new 06 Ram quad cab 1500 with the HEMI, and love it. I just have a few questions though. No matter what I do I cannot smoke the tires. I don't even have the LS rear end. Is this because of the torque management system, or the 4 wheel disk breaks? To my understanding programmers will fix torque management system, but will they void my warranty? A buddy of mine (that is a ford mechanic) told me that even if you put the computer back to stock they can tell what you have done and void your warranty. Is this the same for Dodge?

Thanks,
Robert

thats weird on my 04 qc 4.7 w/ 20s i cant squeal the tires but i thought it was just because the 20s were alot heavier than the 17s my dad has and also has a larger contact patch on the road and thus better traction. do the 04s have the torque management system too or is it just because of my 20s like i thought. my dad has an 03 and he can break em loose easy

The reason you can't smoke the tires is simple. Dodge softened the acceleration because of complaints with pre-2006 models having difficulty keeping the wheels from spinning on wet roads. This was most apparent when just starting out as when a light turns green, stop sign, etc.

I can vouch for that, my 03 likes to get noisie whenever its wet out. it squeeles and spins like butter in a hot pan and on more than one occassion I have been pulled over. Its kind of funny just how many police officers will let you out of a ticket when you take them for a ride and they really do see that its the truck and not the driver that is screwing up. Local cops are the best, they all know me so ride-alongs are a lot more fun. I think its an even trade, softer acceleration for better grip. Trust me, from a rolling start, nobody can tell the differance. They're all just as quick as eachother.

My 03 with the 4.7 and 17" tires would smoke 'em up really easily... But wasn't all that in terms of acceleration when they stuck.
I've only had my 06 Hemi for 6 days.... can't really say I've even tried to light them up... Don't really need to ... World of difference in terms of acceleration, even with the 3.92 rear and 20"s.
