Default Airaid throttle body spacer and Volant Intake

Will a Volant Intake fit the throttle body with an Airaid throttle body spacer. It's a 2002 Dodge Ram 4.7. Thanks for any help.

Lose the spacer, its actually causes you to lose HP. I did NOT feel the power gain from my POWER AID spacer untill I removed it...

Your engine is Multi Port Fuel injected which means your actual intake manifold is DRY. Spacers where originaly developed to allow more time for the fuel and air to atomize which in some cases created more power. The fuel and air in your intake manifold do NOT mix untill the end of each intake runner. So the spacer has ZERO function what so ever for your engine. In most cases you will lose power.

And if your still a NON beleiver take a look at this picture. Here is your POWER AID space held behind the throttle body of a 4.7L... Notice how the inner diameter of the spacer is nearly 1/4" smaller than the actual throttle body inner diameter... This my freind is a restriction at best.

the way you said it, it sounded like you were going straight into the throttlebody which would mean removing that big black box on the top of your engine. on my 04 where the hose from the intake goes into that box there is an electronic sensor of some sort...my friend took his box off and ran a hose from the intake straight to the throttlebody and drilled a hole in the hose stuck the sensor through it and sealed it with silicone. if you really want to stick it straight to your throttlebody and take the black box off then youll have to drill a hole for that sensor and seal it well enough to prevent air from getting out (i dont think thats going to be much of a problem).the only problem i see is that ive heard that the reason for the black box being on there is to allow the air to cool before going into the engine. somebody on this forum told me to leave it if your running stock intake but to take it off if you get a cold air intake because the air will already be cooled down.

Then what should I do as far as the intake is concerned?

i would get the cold air intake and then leave the box on there and drive it like that for a month or so...then take the box off, buy a longer hose, run it straight to the throttlebody, and drill the hole for the sensor. drive it with that set up for a month or so and then see which way got you better gas mileage and horse power. thats what i plan to do as soon as i can afford my cold air intake but i owe my mommy and daddy money for a cell phone bill [:'(]
