'05 4.7L QC vs 240sx... Draw
Well i was coming home from dinner at Kobe's in I believe Altamonte, and i was waiting for the green light underneath the overpass to get on I-4. My buddy told me to rev my engine because it would be loud and echo. So i did and it sounded NICE! (espically after the AIRRAM trifecta i put on it earlier in the day, but thats another post) and i saw a chebby silverado next to me and then he started reving his... it sounded nice also. so we get on the highway and we start driving and I come up to the cheby and he started taking off then slowing back down to race me, there was alot of traffic and i backed down even though i could have taken him...
ANYWAY i got off of the exit to head to my buddys house in Sanford(my house too in august, when i move out and go to UCF Orlando Campus) and i start driving and i was going like 40 and i was in the right lane with only one car ahead of me, so i go into the left lane to pass him and he starts runnin with me, so i gun it and he does to... we got up to about 80 before we hit a red light and we were bumper to bumper the entire time, my buddy says he looked pissed the whole way too that his little ricer couldnt beat a 5000 lb 4dr truck in a little street race, and he said that it was a 240sx with a body kit on, i guess he was looking for looks not speed? either way, embarrising for him. nice little rush. So now im 2-1-1 losing to the GMC sierra. But if i come across her again, and having 3 passengers lighter, plus the AIRRAM Induction + PW + Jetstream... it might be a different story since she only got me by about a 1/2 - 1 truck length.
Well thats my little story, lemme make sure everything is clear b4 i post, dont want another misunderstanding...

PS, my buddys a little "ricer" if you will, but he's as cool as they come, he had a 99 integra that was sickly fast and turbo charged and now he sold that and got himself an 85ish RX7, that lil beast is a neck snaper, and its stock, but anyways, he told me for my auto tranny to start off in 1st gear then pop it into 2nd then into D and itll come off faster... wow what a nice little difference, are there any problems with doing that, ive heard of problems reving in N then dumping into D, but is the 1 - 2 - D ok?
Thanks again

Nice races dude, as far as shifting 1-2-D i dont think that there is any problem with doing that but dont brake while in 1st or 2nd, that will seriously f*ck ur engine up. Wait for more replies but I think you'll be okay.
dude i got the same story with a v6 mustang, except i tied him once, beat him a second time, then beat his friend who also has a v6 mustang. they are so ticked because so many people disrepect the 4.7 and put it down so much that they feel embarrassed. too many people underestimate the 4.7. listen i raced a single cab hemi in my 4.7qc and at 60 he was only a truck length ahead. and i probably would have kept up if i had a single cab too. i mean dang. i have only K&N filtercharger kit intake and custom glass pack dual exhaust (and also premium fuel that i run on all the time if that counts) and for some reason, doing just those two mods on a 4.7 will bring it from running near v6 speeds to running near hemi speeds and im serious too. i dont know why but i thought i was the onyl one. after being on these forums for a while i have noticed that the 4.7s that run fast like me and others have done just a few mods, of which are : intake and exhaust. Dont ask me why this makes the truck do that but it does. i just wish people would quit disrespecting the 4.7 owners, we are all DODGE, aren't we?
also, i broke my truck in the way i wanted it and have been driving a certain way to keep it at maximum performance. i always change the oil and filter and get tune-ups every 2000 miles, that is WAAAY more than necessary, but i am so obsessive about keeping my truck at maximum performance that i am always doing that. im always buying expensive fuel, fuel additives (every now and then), oils, and so on.
so my point is, im not the average driver, so before people start flaming me and calling me a liar about me beig close to the hemi in speed, you need to consider one thing... i DONT have a life. I have a big sticker on my back window that says "4.7L MAGNUM" so everyone i beat can see that they get beat by a little 285 cubic inch motor. I'm loud and proud about it and one who can make the 4.7 .acheive its full potential. and yes my quarter mile time is 15.502.
IF YOU DONT LIKE IT...
BITE ME!!!!

At first i thought the 4.7L was sluggish like most others think[
], but i agree, with just a SI/DO flowmaster and the AIRRAM Intake/Scoop/Power wire, it opened up a whole new beast.
I have never raced a HEMI, and im sure it wouldnt even be close, but for some reason, since the 4.7L are so under powered from the start, any little addition will open up loads of power. Im not going to go crazy performance wise, i mainly got the truck because ITS THE BEST D*MN LOOKING TRUCK ON THE ROAD[sm=icon_rock.gif] (3gen dodge ram in general, expecially FLAME RED) so im going for the "looks" not "speed" [sm=bling.gif] even though i want to put enough on it to keep up with a stock QC HEMI, just so when people ask if i got a hemi, i can say no... but still have the power of one[sm=coolness.gif]
Keep up the good work b3nzyme, and thanks for the comment... 287 in da house!! lol[sm=lame.gif]
